About Us
The Foundation for Marine Biological Research and Conservation ECOMARES is a non-governmental organization (NGO), with an environmental focus and non-profit status, established in 2009 in the city of Cali, Colombia. Its mission is to contribute to the research, conservation, and restoration of biological diversity, particularly in marine ecosystems. Its members have worked as educators, researchers, natural resource managers, and conservationists, both in Colombia and internationally, in countries such as Panama, Costa Rica, the United States, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and South Africa, among others.

Our mission is to manage, research, restore, and educate in order to promote the conservation and sustainable use of marine and coastal ecosystems.

Our vision is to be an organization recognized nationally and internationally for the exceptional quality of our work, our professional expertise, and our dynamic approach, making a positive impact on the knowledge, conservation, and sustainable use of marine and coastal ecosystems.
