My interest in coral reefs is focused on the fish that inhabit these environments, particularly their ecology, population genetics, connectivity, and biogeography. To study these topics, my research integrates ecological field observations and molecular tools. Additionally, I aim to contribute to marine ecosystem and biodiversity conservation through my research. The molecular data produced in my studies provides valuable input for the development of conservation strategies, especially for the Marine Conservation Corridor of the Tropical Eastern Pacific. Currently, I continue to use genomic tools and reef fish as a model system to understand connectivity patterns between protected marine areas in the Eastern Equatorial Pacific region.
